Marijuana Smoking Will Be Allowed In The Sames Places That Cigarette Smoking Is Allowed

Yesterday, the details about smoking pot in Ontario (as of October 17th) became much more clear.

Yesterday the rules about smoking pot in Ontario as of October 17th became much more clear. The rules for smoking for will basically follow the Smoke-Free Ontario Act. You will be able to smoke weed wherever the smoking of tobacco is permitted, including your home. Smoking pot in vehicles or boats will be prohibited. Fines for doing that will range from $1,000 to $5,000. As for the sale of pot, The Ford government says the Alcohol & Gaming Commission will tightly regulate the private cannabis retail marketplace and efforts will be made to keep it out of the hands of children. Municipalities will have an option to opt out of hosting pot shops and there will be a “zero tolerance” policy regarding illegal pot shops. Anyone looking to open a marijuana shop will have to apply for both a retail-operator licence and a retail store authorization for each potential location. There will not be a cap on how many licenses are handed out.
